January 4, 2025: A historic milestone in Vietnamese medicine

On the morning of January 4, 2025, at the large hall of Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi), Congress to establish the Vietnam Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Society (VIGES) was a great success, opening a new chapter for the digestive medicine industry in Vietnam.

With the participation of more than 150 delegates, including doctors, leading medical experts, and representatives from Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Healththe event is not only an important turning point in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy but also affirms the determination to build a strong, connected and sustainably developing medical community.

Highlights at the Congress

Awarding the Decision to establish the Association:
Representative of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Pham Cong Hung, read and presented the Decision to establish the Association, officially recognizing the birth of VIGES. This is a testament to the necessity of establishing a leading professional organization in the context of increasing digestive diseases.

Ms Thang Thị Hạnh, Director of the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations, emphasized the importance of VIGES in improving the quality of gastrointestinal endoscopy treatment in Vietnam. In her speech, she also expressed her expectations for the Association's positive contributions to the medical community, as well as its role in promoting international cooperation.

PGS.TS Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, gave an important speech at the Congress. He emphasized:

“The establishment of the Vietnam Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Association is a great step forward in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy in Vietnam. This is not only a bridge connecting the expert community but also a foundation for us to bring the most advanced techniques into practical treatment. Bach Mai Hospital is always committed to accompanying the Association, from training, research to implementing modern endoscopy applications, contributing to improving the quality of healthcare in the country.”

PGS.TS Nguyen Tuan Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Health, spoke at the Congress, affirming the important role of VIGES Association in improving medical quality.

Executive Committee Structure for the 2025–2030 Term

At the Congress, VIGES Association announced First term Executive Committee, với 46 ủy viên, trong đó có 11 ủy viên thường vụ, dẫn đầu bởi các thành viên chủ chốt:

• Chủ tịch: Ông Nguyễn Công Long
• Phó Chủ tịch: Ông Lê Quang Nhân, Ông Nguyễn Hoài Nam, Ông Phạm Bình Nguyên
• Tổng Thư ký: Ông Lê Phú Tài
• Các ủy viên thường vụ khác: Gồm các chuyên gia đầu ngành trong lĩnh vực nội soi tiêu hóa, đóng vai trò quan trọng trong việc hoạch định chiến lược phát triển Hội.

Tầm nhìn và sứ mệnh của Hội VIGES

Hội VIGES được thành lập với tầm nhìn trở thành tổ chức dẫn đầu trong lĩnh vực nội soi tiêu hóa tại Việt Nam, tập trung vào:

• Đào tạo chuyên sâu: Nâng cao kỹ năng và chuyên môn cho đội ngũ y bác sĩ trên cả nước.
• Nghiên cứu và ứng dụng kỹ thuật mới: Đưa các công nghệ tiên tiến vào chẩn đoán và điều trị.
• Hợp tác quốc tế: Kết nối với các tổ chức y khoa toàn cầu, thúc đẩy giao lưu và phát triển.
