Scientific Meeting: "Updates on New Techniques in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pancreatic Cancer"

In a continuous effort to enhance the quality of diagnosis and treatment for complex digestive diseases, the Vietnam Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Society (VIGES) is pleased to collaborate with the Digestive & Hepatobiliary Center of Bach Mai Hospital to organize a Scientific Meeting themed: “Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment of Pancreatic Cancer”.

Pancreatic cancer remains a significant challenge in clinical practice due to difficulties in early-stage diagnosis and limited options for curative treatment. The emergence and development of advanced interventional endoscopy techniques, particularly Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) under Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) guidance, have opened new avenues, promising to improve the prognosis for patients.

This program serves as a prestigious scientific forum, bringing together leading domestic and international experts to update, share experiences, and demonstrate the most modern techniques in this field

CHAIRPERSON AND SPEAKERS

The program is honorably chaired by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Cong Long, MD, PhD – Director of the Digestive & Hepatobiliary Center, Bach Mai Hospital.

Notably, the program features teaching and technical demonstrations from a leading international expert:

• Prof. Pradermchai Kongkam, MD, PhD: Director of the Excellence Center for GI Endoscopy, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thailand.

The program also includes a specialized report by Specialist Physician, Level II, Dang Quang Nam from the Digestive & Hepatobiliary Center, Bach Mai Hospital

MAIN CONTENTS OF THE PROGRAM

The program is designed with in-depth theoretical reports and practical clinical demonstrations, including:

1. An update lecture: "Endoscopic Ultrasound-guided Radiofrequency Ablation (EUS-RFA) in the treatment of pancreatic cancer" presented by Prof. Pradermchai Kongkam.
2. A specialized lecture: "ERCP in patients with biliary obstruction not indicated for surgery" presented by Specialist Physician, Level II, Dang Quang Nam.
3. Trình diễn ca lâm sàng trực tiếp (Live Case Demonstration): Live Case Demonstration: Prof. Pradermchai Kongkam will perform two techniques:
   • EUS-guided Radiofrequency Ablation for pancreatic tumors (EUSRA™).
   • Endoscopic Radiofrequency Ablation for the biliary tract (ELRA™).
4. Hands-on Session: Participants will have the opportunity to practice the techniques under the direct guidance of the expert.
5. Discussion Session: Experts will answer questions, share practical experiences, and discuss complex clinical cases.
