Successfully organized the 1st Practical Training Course “New Trends of Endoscopic EMR/ESD Wound Closure”

Summary of the first practical training course

On April 4-5, 2025, the Vietnam Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Society (VIGES) in collaboration with the Department of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy - University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City successfully implemented Course 1 – Practical training “New trends in Endoscopic closure of EMR/ESD incisions”.

This first training course gathered 10 Endoscopy specialists and 3 nurses. The curriculum includes:

  • In-depth theory: Presented by industry experts:
    • Prof. Osamu Goto (Tokyo Komagome Hospital for Cancer and Infectious Diseases, Japan).
    • Dr. Le Quang Nhan (Vice President of VIGES, Head of Digestive Endoscopy Department - University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City).
  • Intensive practice: Doctors and nurses spent a whole morning and afternoon practicing the technique. endoscopic closure of EMR/ESD incisions on the model. The emphasis is on the use of tools. SutuArt, an advanced technology in this field.

 

Training Highlights and Objectives

The course introduced and facilitated students to directly practice advanced suturing techniques, especially with SutuArt tools. The learning atmosphere is professional and open, focusing on:

  • Open up a modern approach in endoscopic treatment neoplastic lesions of the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Share experiences and techniques to effectively prevent the following complications EMR/ESD.
  • Help doctors and nurses improve their practical skills and update their knowledge interventional endoscopic trends latest in the world
