22-12 Hospital, in collaboration with VIGES, successfully organizes the scientific seminar "Mastering ESD Training: From Diagnostic Colonoscopy to Advanced ESD Techniques" in Khanh Hoa

On August 24, 2025, in Nha Trang city, 22-12 Hospital in coordination with the Viet Nam Interventional Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (VIGES) and with the support of Olympus Vietnam, successfully organized a scientific seminar themed "Mastering ESD Training: From Diagnostic Colonoscopy to Advanced ESD Techniques".

The seminar is a key Continuing Medical Education (CME) activity, reflecting VIGES's mission to connect and share advanced medical techniques with the medical community, especially in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions. In his opening speech, Dr. Trinh Viet Thang, Director of 22-12 Hospital, emphasized that the seminar provides a valuable opportunity for doctors in Khanh Hoa and neighboring provinces to access, learn, and enhance their professional expertise in Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD)—a leading method for treating early-stage gastrointestinal cancer.

The program featured lectures and chairing by top experts:

• Prof. Dr. Tomohiko Ohya: An Interventional Endoscopy expert from Japan
• Dr. Le Quang Nhan and Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam:: Vice Presidents of the Viet Nam Interventional Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (VIGES).
• Specialist Level II Doctor Cao Nguyen Dinh: VIGES Executive Committee Member, Vice Director and Head of the Endoscopy Department at 22-12 Hospital.
• Master, MD. Nguyen The Phuong:VIGES Executive Committee Member.

The seminar's content was comprehensively designed, closely integrating theory and practice. In the morning session, delegates listened to in-depth scientific reports and updates on:

• Essential skills to shorten the learning curve and master the ESD technique.
• The application of magnifying endoscopy with Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) in diagnosing early-stage colorectal cancer.
• Advancements and implementation results of the ESD technique at 22-12 Hospital.

A special highlight of the seminar was the live-case clinical practice session, where experts performed ESD procedures on patients.
